Capable of sourcing up to 250mA of current with a minimal input-output voltage differential of just 178mV at 250mA, this regulator boasts an impressively low current consumption of only 1.6µA, making it an ideal choice for battery-powered applications. Its low voltage differential not only extends battery operating lifetime, but also ensures stable operation with a 1.0µF ceramic output capacitor. In addition, the MCP1700 permits high currents in small packages, even when operated with minimum VIN – VOUT differentials, and incorporates short-circuit protection and over-temperature protection to guarantee maximum reliability in critical applications
