The MAX3221CAE+ is a highly efficient product that boasts a supply current of only 1µA, thanks to Maxim's innovative AutoShutdown™ feature. This technology allows the device to conserve power by shutting down its power supply and drivers when no valid signal levels are detected on the receiver inputs. Whether the RS-232 cable is disconnected or the peripheral transmitters are turned off, the MAX3221CAE+ will automatically enter a low-power state. Once a valid signal is detected on any RS-232 receiver input, the system will quickly power back up and resume normal operation
